Big Little Tent Festival Kit

The kit for this year's festival arrived today and I'm glad to see there has been an improvement in the quality and usefullness of the contents over last year.  Perhaps some of the Scouts' "Be Prepared" is rubbing off on HQ.  A decent flag we can run up the flagpole even!

As we are supposed to be encouraging children towards camping it was good to see there are now four wristbands amongst the kit but I was originally a bit dissapointed to find only one Lei. I thought that would be a cause of fights and tears amongst the junior ranks until I read on the packaging "For adult use only".  Makes sense now - the chief wears the flowers (instead of feathers)!

Our youngest grandson was more than happy to receive the freebie flag and bunting, the wristbands went on straight away! smile

Just seen this and wondered what it was about, so googled and read the page - (which is still dated 2017).  I thought it would be great for our grandchildren and checked to see if the offer was available to non-members (which it should be if the idea is to attract newcomers to camping).  But the link to 'sign up now' doesn't work and goes to a page saying 'This survey is not accepting additional responses at this time. Thank You!.'  Perhaps the C&MC are equally disinterested in repeating the idea.

Hi ValDa,

It hasn't been confirmed as yet but we are expecting the Big Little Tent Festival to run again this year. Keep an eye out on the website for more information later in the year.

Hi ValDa,

Last year the packs were available to everyone and you requested the packs via our website. As I say, we have not been advised as yet as to whether the Festival will run this year but keep watching.

Kind Regards

Tracy

I will, Tracy, and thanks for that.  I'm sure our grandchildren would love to spend a 'Festival Night' in our garden.  We have some great tents to choose from, and if the C&MC Festival doesn't work out, then perhaps we'll stage our own.
