Certainly, if the number of times you see trailer tents on club sites is anything to go by, it is time for this section to go. Saw one at Killin the other week and that is the first for ages. Tents, again few and far between on sites that have them, except Morvich where there were loads. Given that the last post, other than on this how popular thread, was October 2015, I think it really is time to close it.

Sorry Steve, but I think that we should encourage members to post on CT. If I were a trailer-tenter and read all the commets about closing this thread then I would be inclined to think of the club as very unfriendly and snobbish, let the thread stay, it doesn't pay any rent and may serve a purpose to some member in need one day.....

I can't for the life of me understand why people want to close this thread! I have an idea but won't voice it here. There is no harm in it being here even if lies dormant for periods of time. Never had a trailer tent but thinking back I would have enjoyed it just as much as having a van.

I can't speak for anyone else's motives, but I think a section which had it's last proper input in October 2015 and inputs before that months apart ( Aug, May, Feb, Aug 2014) could be replaced by another section, which might see more use. One on Technology would sit very well in this section, and give somewhere specific for computer type problems, sat dishes, TV's, mobile phones etc.

It is Trailer Tents and Camping. Can you see the section being closed when CC are providing more tent pitches and encouraging campers?
Anyway, it's doing no harm. We have a caravan section and a MH section do why deny those who camp under canvas a section?
This section is more relevant to the hobby than a lot on here. I'm sure we're not looking down on some folk are we?

Certainly not me, we camped for over 30 years and make full use of the facility on some CC sites, to allow family members to join us in their tents. As do others that we have talked to on site. However, tent pitches have been available for several years on quite a few sites, and the increase and promotion in the last 1 - 2 years does not seem to be reflected by any change in the traffic within this section.

There are other sections not used a lot. There are sections I never look at. So what? I don't call for them to be closed as some people read them. Leave things as they are rather than excluding a section of the membership. It's plain to me that if cvans and MHs have their sections, so should canvas. It would be discriminatory to remove it.
Steve, it's not for you or I to pass judgement on such things and a looking at the bigger picture might help. The status quo is fine by me.
