Woke up late due to a person going around unplugging hook ups to do a test at 07.00 in the morning,  by unplugging the power it switched off my alarm and made us sleep in which messed up our plans for the day, Well done Looe site management (NOT)

I do find it highly unlikely that the warden was testing EHU at 7am and I do wonder if this was a supposition on behalf of the OP. I am certainly guilty of unplugging somebody's connection in error when leaving a site.

I also inadvertently disconnected somebody's EHU. Thanks for reminding me Easy!

Not quite.  We have still not established just who unplugged the lead, or reasoned out why the OP thought testing had been in progress.

The unplugging of leads could happen to anyone. I'm not aware of any Caravan Club site, or Camping and Caravan Club site, where the lead is plugged into a box that is then locked, but I have seen such an arrangement on commercial sites where the supply is through a prepaid meter.

certainly some Continental sites we have used have required a staff member to open the cabinet and hook us up on arrival, and the reverse when leaving.

not sure why this process is operated (perhaps like JVB mentioned on the LPG thread, some people shouldn't be let near service boxes?) but it never inconveniences us as we just tell the office roughly what time we are leaving....and if they do it early, the world doesn't crumble once the cable is removed...

In Germany it often is on metered ehu, we all know that if it wasn’t locked some sneaky person would abuse the situation

7 am is a little early to test electric, would not be happy with that, warned or not.

Well, I blame Boris! wink

(In order to make that comment non political, I have, of course,  omitted to make clear which Boris I'm referring to). laughing
