Site Guide and CL Web Site Prices

Is there any official instruction in force to compel CL owners to update their price guide shown on the clubs website to that shown in the official site guide?

I have noticed that a couple of CLs we have stayed at this year have increased their price by £1 per night in the site guide but their prices have not yet been upgraded on the clubs internet pages. So is there a rule in force and if not should there be? What control or supervision does the club undertake?

Personally I always check when making a booking but if the lower web price is left in force for a long time then this is misleading and can leave a sour taste if it differs by a large amount.

Moderator Comment - Just added CL into the title so this does not get confused with another on going discussion.

I don't think that there is, WN. There are some that are still showing the price for 2016. I do know that a few have not raised their price since than, but they are few and far between.

I always ask, when making an booking enquiry, what the site fees are, as we have a maximum price that we feel we can afford and are willing to pay for the site's location and facilities provided.

OH, who makes our bookings, was just saying the same.  Several sites she has looked at are still quoting 2016 prices.......which may or may not be current.

How difficult can it be to show up to date  prices in the on line system?

I too noticed that the sites directory prices have been amended,  but lower price still showing on the website, it's usually the other way round surprised I do usually check prices when we book, but really wish there was some continunity! !   One can only dream

Kjell, some owners don't even update the prices shown on their own web sites, so there's not much chance of them informing the CC of their price changes, unfortunate as that is.

Surely if they inform the club about the changes for the directory. ( as implied in the OP) It would be the CC's responsibility to make sure these were also updated on the club website. Surely the CL owners don't have to inform two separate departments.

If that is the case I can see why the disparities  occur.😖

Much what I had surmised Steve

Yes, that was what I meant.

We do always ask for price confirmation before booking, but sometimes get no reply to that.  That usually results in us going elsewhere.

If CL owners are serious about making some income from their venture, IMO they do need to make some effort to keep things up to date.

To be honest, I take the price guide for CLs on this website with a very large dose of salt since some of them show prices from 3 or so years ago. So when I enquire, usually by email, I always ask for the up to date price. Having said that, 2 of the 3 we've booked so far for 2019 have quoted the price shown. smile

Maybe Maddie can clarify the situation for us. As the CL owners obviously inform the club about amendments including prices is the onus on the club to inform another dept so that paper records such as site guides and digital ones such as found on the clubs own website are harmonised? Presumably the CL owner cannot access their own page on CMC website to carry out such amendments.

Could a CL owner provide some insight. Please!

It might be the difference between 2018 prices shown on the web which will change in the New Year to those shown in the gUide?

The Club is responsible for both but can only act on what CL owners tell them.
