I have started this thread to combine the two current separate discussions on on France and Germany. I will lock this to further replies so that it is just a reference point. Please feel free to continue to contribute  the individual discussions linked. below.

This is an interesting website that gives information on what vehicles are allowed to enter certain cities and zones, with useful maps.

A word of caution about buying these stickers. Please read the discussion as it is easy to pay over the odds for these stickers if you don't use the official channels for purchase. All the information you need is noted within the two discussions.
