Hi

We are going to Europe for 63 days from mid Oct. and plan to go again in early Jan for about 80 days.

Firstly, thanks to Eurotraveller from Cornwall who suggested that we use Aviva which offers 180 days overseas pet Insurance.  We now have cover.

Secondly, we had the same problem with car insurance for prolonged stays over 60 days.  Again Aviva provided the policy we needed.

Thirdly, we have not been as successful with house insurance.  Our current insurers, Direct Line, will provide cover for 60 days but after that water leaks and theft are excluded.  Many insurers won't touch us as part of the house is used for a seperate business twice a week.  Anyone out there had the same issues?  I've checked that the CAMC insurance wont do.  We are in the first 14 days of our policy so can cancel if you have a solution.

What does everyone else do, there are thousands who go to Spain for ages in the winter and a number who go on world cruises for 100+ days??  Do they just risk it and not bother to tell their insurer?

For house insurance try C&CC, we got ours from RSA via the other club, 90 days, I believe without checking!, automatically increased to 180 days via the club. No need for heating to be on, house to be visited or other conditions.

Ditto but I believe you can opt for up to 180 days. I have the C&CC policy but opted for cover up to 60 days. We are rarely away longer.
