Hi
I’ve just booked ferry to Ireland to drive the WAW - I’ve got 4-6 weeks in a campervan, just me and the dog!
I’ll be wild camping some of the time but using sites/facilities for toilet emptying and water fillups etc
Any tips , ideas, suggestions, recommendations, comments about anything would be much appreciated.

You will love it. I live in Co Offaly ( in the middle of the country ) My favourite counties are Donegal, Sligo, Mayo, Galway ( Connemara) Clare and Kerry. There is enough in that group to take up your entire visit and more. The main tourist sights are well publicised but I think it will be those hidden gems that you find for yourself that will give the most pleasure. I was in Mayo last weekend driving tracks and trails in the Land Rover and found places I hadn't seen before. And I have spent a lot of time driving around Mayo.
Busier towns like Westport offer great food, music and pubs whilst smaller ones like Newport are well worth a visit. The whole country is very relaxed and you will be welcomed warmly. There are lots of paces to stop in the campervan and nobody seems to hassle you.
In Co Clare you have The Burren, a limestone karst which is fabulous and sensitive so do be careful to park up in a sensible place. There are plenty of places to stop and walk the dog for miles without meeting anyone or you can find busy spots for some social interaction. Doolin in Clare is a favourite for pubs and music. The dog is bound to be welcome in some pubs. We recently changed to law on dogs in restaurants and cafes etc Dog Friendly Rules
Kerry has the Ring of Kerry which is spectacular plus the towns of Tralee and Killarney for a more lively vibe. It also has some incredible beaches.

Agree; you will love it. My wife and I have just covered similar ground in our caravan. We had 3 weeks and couldn’t complete everything we wanted to do. We will be back next year.
Take a trip out to Skellig Michael island - expensive but worth it. Stay in Clifden (or nearby) - beautiful. And yes, the Burren is not to be missed.
There’s too much to write about - go see!

Earlier this year we hired a 6 bedroom, 6 bathroom cottage for all of the family in the village of Moyard, Galway and spent a week exploring the area and driving the WWW. There is some stunning scenery and some beautiful places to visit. The locals were really friendly and the amount of free live music that we fell into in bars was amazing! Have a great trip.
