That has crossed my mind. (I posted that 'mad' idea some time ago.) But yes, very expensive. And I am rather faint hearted about long sea crossings (and short ones if truth be told).

Anyway, goodness knows if the passenger services will still exist. There's a lot of concern here in Pembrokeshire.

"A breakthrough has been made in the export of Cornwall’s fish and shellfish to the major market in France following a Brexit crisis.

Following a meeting on Wednesday (March 24) between Cornwall Council leader Julian German and Loïg Chesnais-Girard, president of the regional council of Brittany, it has been agreed that Brittany Ferries will regularly travel to Cornwall to take stocks of fish, crabs, lobster, oysters and other Cornish produce to Roscoff.

There has also been a suggestion that it could lead to a passenger link between Cornwall and Roscoff too"

maybe they will have room for a caravan or 2 laughing

That would be akin to BF's original role when the Roscoff/Plymouth route was created with the main aim of giving French farmers easy access to these shores for exporting their produce. In the early days there seemed to be an endless stream of French lorries bringing cauliflowers into Millbay Docks.

As is often the case the headline is misleading.

All that has been agreed is that Cornwall Council and the Brittany Regional Council, having signed an MOU, will work together.

Maybe a media report that suggests that Looe could be the destination port for a Brittany Ferries freight ship should be taken with a pinch of Cornish Sea Salt?!

Dont knock it , it does say

"The export of Cornish goods could start as early as next month."

this would be a great result for the Cornish fishing industry, and maybe some parts of agriculture would benefit ?

"Mr German added that there had long been discussions about a passenger ferry link between Cornwall and Brittany, and this now looked more likely, but it was a “step for the future”."

so maybe not for  holidays makers just yet, but best to think positive laughing

And it'll be nothing to do with him being leader of the Council hoping to hang onto his seat in the forthcoming elections?

Rufs, I'll believe it when I see it.
