Charging electric vehicles on club pitches

Whilst a club site I observed a fellow caravaner charging his vehicle via the external socket of his caravan, is this procedure conducive with the guidance given on site leaflets "that the use of electricity should be considered to help minimise our effect on the environment", additional should extra charges be made for carrying out such procedure.

The club has started a discussion on the subject of hybrid cars etc, asking for feedback. I think they will need to be considering future changes so I look forward to their responses on here and this thread ....

The ones that moan about all the rest of the imagined unfair practices I reckon.

Perhaps this quote is less than relevant, but if it is seen that members are actually being charged for others to have free fuel, then I would suggest others would join Rocky as ex members and use other sites.

Are you suggesting members should consider leaving the Club if they have genuine concerns about the future of fair electrical usage and it’s possible effect on fees?

Given the other thread you have just started... nope, not going to rise to it, I shall remain calm wink tongue-out cool

Go for the run first.

There is already a post on this thread to that effect, and my comment is justified. If folk feel they are paying more than they should be charged, then they may choose to spend their money elsewhere. The club are no longer the cheapest, several AS sites offer better value along with many commercial sites. If cost is a major factor in deciding which site to choose, then the CAMC may loose custom.

If the cost of pitches does not alter then it may be pointed out that we are being overcharged for the electricity already.

Forums are forums, people are people. If you want a kindergarten experience then you may choose to join one. The reason all forums have moderators is because it is factual that we all have different personalities, all have differing levels before steam comes out of the ears, it is a fact of life and is controlled by management very well thank you.

How could the club object to charging an electric car when they support eco projects the person on that pitch has paid above and beyond for what they may use i am sure that we all pay for more electric than we use but never get a rebate. This may be a good time for the club to look at metering instead of a set daily rate this way we all will closer at what we leave on through the day and night.

The CMC will definitely need to rethink their electricity site distribution to cater for Electric cars and Motorhomes.

The Tesla Supercharger which charges in 1 hour is the best in the world today.  It is a 480 volt system which allows a much better range before recharging.

Tesla is setting the standard for no-emission electric propulsion and to be sure other manufacturers will do their best to catch up.

So CMC ,might be a good idea to start planning for the All Electric revolution.--------------  Now
