Totally agree with poor communication from the club. 

I posted his problem, albeit at nearly 9pm, but it was only hearsay. Surely the club would have known the severity of the problem long before that and should have clarified the situation. Seems as though all the work was done by the wardens.

Do we need theclub to tell us ,? surely common sense ..keep away .Going into sheffield in fog ,. Why not wait ?

surely people would just stay away until the environment agency gives an all clear for the area, or is that being over presumptuous, after all it is not just the club site that is in a yellow warning area, so surely people with any sense would stay clear at least for a few days, would be stupid to clog up the area with caravans/mh's.

I don't know the up-to-date situation but just a comment on the site.

On Thursday mid-morning it was hammering it down with rain as we prepared to leave the site after three nights there.

A large 'Council' type yellow vehicle was going round the site sucking up leaves from the road edges and depositing water back into the centre of the road through pipes at the back of the vehicle.

They seem obsessed with leaf clearance, two hours each day with one of those noisy back-pack blowers, removing leaves from empty pitches and within an hour the leaves have dropped from the trees and covered the pitches up again.

The approach lane on Thursday had puddles the size of Ladybower at the entrance and Chatsworth Park was virtually awash.

It was thick with mud on the paths just outside the Club gate to the Park and some of the ducks had put lifejackets on in expectation of flooding.

Wonderful place is Derbyshire - on a sunny day !!!

Maybe think that things like that won't affect them, and they would attempt to get there come what may. They are of the mind that as it's their weekend for going away and as they've booked a pitch nothing is going to stop them taking up their booking. They ignored the site speed and arrival times so why bother ignoring advice not to travel.
