Just wondered if anyone has been to this site.  Looks good.  We've booked in for a few days from Monday (weather permitting), following a family get together on Sunday.  Our eldest daughter has volunteered to stay at home at the end of our visit to do the tidying following the do, and we're secretly hoping that our son (who lives in the village) might make a start on decorating our newly installed downstairs loo.

In the meantime a visit to Harbury Fields, might be good. (Weather permitting).  The site looks good, and it is a Club Affilliated site.  I hope to drive up to NEC on Tuesday, although Carol will stay back to dog sit.

If anyone has been to the site  e'd be interested in your thoughts and comments ...

Thanks for your comments folks.  One of the reasons we haven't been here before is that it's not really that far from home.  The site is in S Warks and we are in N Warks.  We tend to travel a little further, generally, but we wanted to get away and I'm going to the NEC on Tuesday.  Chapel Lane was booked out for our nights, so we decided on Harbury.

Tonight is forecast extra special wind over night, but then it looks like it might ease....  we'll soon see!

I don't know what's wrong with the CAMC tape measure but it's a lot further than 0.5 miles to Harbury. It's two miles to the nearest pub!

They must have used their elasticated tape measure.

Rather like an outfit that measured up to build a conservatory for me, upon trying to erect it found that they couldn't

Back from Harbury Fields today.....  new here's what I thought.

It was quite wet for most of our stay, so this probably coloured our opinion a little.  It is a really quiet site in spite of it being quite busy.  The pitches were of a reasonable size, but one or two were a little smaller.  The site was flat and quite open, but some individual pitches had quite a lot of surface gravel - quite thick, which meant the surface was a little less stable.  Toilet blocks were adequate and kept clean. The CDP was in need of some attention and cleaning.

The biggest problem I found was that some of the roads around the site were a little narrow if you have a large caravan - especially the angles where the roads turn.  Other parts were fine.  The ground was wet, and we were asked  fo keep vehicles off the grass (understandably).  Where folks had inadvertently caught the edge of the grass (usually at the turns), cones were put out.  This meant it was difficult/ impossible to turn a corner without driving on the grass on the opposite side (when towing).  It would have been better if some of the roads were widened a little, especially at the turns - quite possible to do in most cases.

It is a nice site, but not quite up to usual CAMC standards.  However, this was reflected in the price.  It was lovely to find another site where a the pitches were fully serviced pitches.  Perhaps we will return when it's not quite as wet.
