I know a few members are like us and mix in a few none Club Sites into a tour. Thought I would open up a thread for folks to post website links to any nice sites they come across, that might interest others.

This one to start with http://www.thamesheadinn.co.uk/camping-caravan-sites-cirencester-glos.html

Just off A433 few miles from Cirencester, so ideal for Cotswolds area. Plenty to see and do in area, Pub is nice for food.

Moderator Edit:

This thread is for posting links and/or reviews.  Please don't use it to discuss the merits, or otherwise, of other people's choices.

Thank You.

Just returned from a very enjoyable break staying at Hunters Hamlet Touring Park near Abergele in North Wales.

Thanks for that Mikey. I stopped at Plas Farm just a bit further along a few years ago and it was OK but not great so been looking at Hunters for a short break.

Good to see that a) Wifi is free and b) their fairness in only increasing prices for the actual Easter weekend is great to see, as is their fair pricing structure.

For those still active there is the Old Hill Inn at the foot of Ingleborough. Reviewed in the Guardian  today which might put some people off. But it has 8 or maybe 10 pitches so far too big for “we only go to CLs”  crowd, and there’s a danger of non members being there.. Restaurant is said to be more Michelin than pub food - have I lost the rest of you now.? Anyway there are reviews on UKCS - some say it’s listed under Ingleton and others say Chapel le Dale. I would certainly go if I were younger .  Alas.

We know it ET. There are one or two other nice pubs with pitches of one sort and another close by, including a Britstop almost under Ribblehead Viaduct.

Ruddy Guardian is a nuisance reviewing the nice places like this. We have had many a discovery inundated after Guardian has broadcast things🤣

Thanks for adding.

We walked past this site today - in all the years we've been coming to Cornwall, never knew it existed!

Adults Only, with lovely views over the valley and away from the main road so probably not as noisy as the nearby club site.

Haven't bothered to check prices, but it may interest some of you. smile

Thanks for that👍 Two doors down from the Old Post Office is Bernie’s Cafe. It was always THE place for walkers, cyclists and cavers. Long time since I have been in, but the food and chat was legendary😁

That looks a fine site, M, thanks for the heads up.

Reading the site details they charge a basic price for serviced pitch, and then extra for those wishing to use the toilets and shower, as has been part of a suggestion by tda in another section.
