Troutbeck Head

New facilities are an improvement but when we were there in March, it was surprising, and annoying, that there were no public telephones although the site leaflet, which is available to download from the website, says there are phones in the toilet blocks. Unless they've been installed during the last two weeks they definitely weren't there. Wardens informed us that they hadn't been installed at the refit. Generally, mobile phone reception is poor although you can get a signal if you drive/walk up the road to the site entrance.

Thanks for all the info, seems like a great site, but just watch out for the midges!
