We are having a big clear out at home (I say "we" but I'm doing under sufferance! )

We have found a tin full of old foreign notes and coins from holidays long past  - pre Euro - there are marks, drachma, krona etc etc.

I believe that some charities will accept this old currency but I can't find any details so just wondering if anyone on here might know? There appears to be quite a substantial amount!

Our branch of Nationwide have a box to put this in, money for a children's charity I believe in their case.

We had a similar clear out a while back and I finally remembered to take it with me 😉

Travelling through airports I have often seen collecting bins for unused foreign currency.

I guess they would also take out of date notes and coins.
