Absolutely wonderful. Served his country well now twice.

Out if interest I wonder why his was such a great hit and fundraiser? I mean to take NOTHING away from him.

ABM yes there are some things well worth shouting about.

Morale booster at a time when we're all a wee bit flat? An opportunity to 'do our bit' for the NHS? A sense of admiration for a true gentleman who has coped with a recent broken hip and kept 'plugging away'? [his daughter says he needs a sense of purpose].

A remarkable feat and a remarkable man.

I’m not a fan of old folk generally but this one has my total & utter respect. No me, me, me nor popping at everyone younger, no BS either. He set out a challenge to himself & with love & support for who he is he succeeded beyond his wildest dreams. What a wonderful individual he isπŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

He’s wonderful in a lot of ways. For me, he represents all those elderly folks who probably share his indomitable spirit, I know my Mum certainly is the same, she seldom complains, never asks nor expects help, just sets herself a task and gets on with it. An absolute star. We donated, it’s a way of thanking him, and thanking those who will benefit from his efforts. The little girl organising the birthday greetings deserves a mention as well. Two different generations united in kindnessπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

One of the local weather girls referred to him as Major Tom the other day, obviously unaware of the progression UK army ranks. Although had he been Major Tom the press would have an even bigger field day!!!

His achievement is fantastic. Without knocking the efforts of the likes of Comic Relief and Children in Need etc, what he has done is single handed. He has no massive production teams behind him who only achieve about double the donations he has got. All that he is likely to need out of this is a new pair of shoes and new wheels for his walking aid! He is an inspiration to us all.
