Chris Lewis is the Patterdale Mountain Rescue volunteer, very badly injured carrying out a recent rescue in the Lake District. He was airlifted to hospital, is in intensive care, and now has life changing injuries.

I know that many Members enjoy walking, climbing mountains, going out in all weathers, and though it might be of interest for anyone looking to donate to the fund set up for Mr Lewis. Link is below....

Thanks for that link. Those mountain rescue folk are so brave and their total lack of finger pointing and blaming the two idiots they were called out to rescue is a lesson to everyone in these tough times. Will gladly contribute to that fund. smile

Thanks for the link, donation made.

My thoughts go out to him and his family. Those they helped shouldn't have been there 😤, fined £200 each. I hope the contribute a darn site more to the donations page and carry some guilt........ The volunteers say they're not there to judge.

Northumberland mountain rescue team were out recently, along with rescue helicopter from Prestwick 14 plus hours. Assisting an ambulance to get to a remote farm. LINK  A much happier outcome for the team, not sure about the casualty. Link shows the conditions and the skill of the helicopter pilot in getting down.

Such selfless volunteers deserve our thanks, not being asked to put themselves at risk as a result of someone else's whim 😤

I can't praise these people enough.

Anybody who spends time on the hills knows that things can go pear shaped at any moment and the law of averages dictate that someone somewhere will need rescuing on an all too frequent basis, so hat's off to not just Mountain Rescuers but Air Ambulance staff, RNLI volunteers, voluntary firemen etc. as well.

Several countries have a law whereby you can be prosecuted for endangering life and I wish we had one.

RNLI and Mountain Rescue always receive donations from us and I will be making a contribution to Mr.Lewis's future wellbeing.

I'm still angry though at the covidiots thoughyellyell

As of a few minutes ago that fund is approaching £700000. Wonderful to see the way folks will react to such a worthy appeal. smile

It has now last £780,000. What a great job done by all of those that have donated. Wonder if it will get to £1,000,000?

Brilliant but I so wish it wasn't needed 😢. It may help with a lack of financial worry but so many lives will be so different.......
