Joan Armatrading

I'm a big fan - saw her at the former Colston Hall in Bristol some years ago, a fabulous performance. I hadn't heard about this honour,  but it's richly deserved. 

Her voice filled our hall of residence back in the 70s but never saw her live. Truely wonderful voice. Joan has suffered with mental health issues over the years and I do hope this much deserved honour helps all understand the depth of her musical talent.

Congrats to Joan, think she deserve higher recognition.  Seen her 4 or 5 times.  Last time was her one woman show, no backing group, really fabulous.  Not only a great singer and song writer but an all round musician
