Kegworth

Just reading in the news about Kegworth, thirty years ago since the plane came down on the M1. Seems unbelievable now that it happened, the area has changed so much, new junctions, new routes. We drove past that embankment some three weeks after the crash, on our way down to Cornwall for a holiday, and the scar in the side of the embankment was a horrific reminder of what had happened, terrible for those onboard. But it could have been so much worse had the plane landed on Kegworth village, not far away. Two horrendous air incidents, this and Lockerbie, so many people killed and injured. So many lives ruined.
