Just heard the sad news that Nicholas Parsons has died at the age of 96.

From straight guy to Arthur Haynes to the Rocky Horror Show to keeping control on Just a Minute he was such a versatile entertainer and witty speaker who will be sadly missed.

Goodness, he did reach a good old age! His voice never changed despite his years.

Rest in Peace. From what I know of him as a presenter and actor a lovely man. Loved him in Just a Minute which he hosted from its inception. His voice and brain never seem to indicate his age. Big shoes to fill for someone.

Whilst working in Africa in the 90s our regular contact with home was the World Service on a short wave radio, once a week Just A Minute was broadcast, we used to listen live or if otherwise engaged set up a Heath Robinson timer and cassette recorder. RIP Nicholas

PS We never deviated or hesitated but we did repeat
