very sad to hear that the dreadful virus had claimed a true sporting legend.

i saw him play at Elland Road (against Bristol City) and many times on the TV for Eangland and Leeds.

one of the last of the 'hard men' of top flight football....he bit many a leg.

RIP Norman.

I used to go to Liverpool and often saw Norman playing for Leeds.

Most shocking thing I ever saw was when Norman and Tommy Smith both went full at it for a 50/50 ball, neither man really interested as to where the ball was. The ball knew it was safe.

There was a radio interview with Mrs Hunter, not long after Norman retired from playing. The interviewer asked Mrs Hunter had ever been worried that Norman might return from a match with a broken leg. When Mrs Hunter replied that Norman was a hard man and she had no worries, the interviewer replied, 'I wasn't thinking about Norman coming home with his broken leg; I was thinking of him coming home with someone else's ....'

RIP Norman.
