Spiral

For those of you that like foreign language TV series a new series of the gritty French police drama, Spiral, started last night on BBC4 https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0072wk9 The usual format on BBC 4 is to run two episodes one after the other each week. This has been a long running programme , this is series 8, and apparently this is the last series to be made. Unlike Inspector Montalbano which is set in Sicily and makes use of the wonderful scenery the same can't be said for Spiral which only seems to show the seedier side of the Paris. I find it interesting to contrast the legal procedure differences between what we do in the UK and what seems to be the French (and other countries) way of doing things where the Judiciary get involved at a much earlier stage.
