The South (still Beautiful!)

We went to see The South, the latest incarnation of the 90's group Beautiful South last night. And what a show they put on! Almost 2 hours of non stop hits and some new songs as well. I saw the original line up with Paul Heaton many times years ago and, although there's now only 1 member of the group left, they still put on a great performance. If you're a fan it's well worth going  to see them if they visit your area. smile

Never heard them live but I thought his best female band partner was Briana Corrigan. Could really associate with the social comment being portrayed in many of the songs of both Hms and BS.

No Housemartins songs - would have like to hear Happy Hour again!

Alison did pay tribute to Briana before she sang Bell Bottomed Tear! smile

Edit - agree about JacquI Abbott - but so many of the songs just make it easy for the vocalists.Great stuff!

Yes, we were encouraged to sing along to that - and invited to use the original lyrics! surprised
