I thought this brought a lighter note to the affects of lockdown, food that you might be missing. smile

Having made myself and OH a couple of cream teas recently I also know I miss being able to go out and enjoy something nice to eat which I haven't had to cook or make myself.

Are you missing any of these things too?

We still treat ourselves to a cream tea, local scones, Roddas clotted cream from Sainsburys and strawberry jam. Am I allowed to mention jam firstinnocent

We have also had a next day post of Cornish pasty's 10 large steak and 6 veggy.

What I am really missing is my Saturday morning greasy breakfast from our cafe where I can sup tea, read and eat, just not the same doing it at home.

Oh no, not another jam or cream first thread.

What do you mean jam or cream first?

Obviously it's butter first, then jam, then cream. smile

I prefer plenty of butter rather than jam or cream and I want my scones akin to rock cakes rather than some of the  pallid looking offerings that look more steamed than baked

You can buy Rock Cakes ET, good with either butter or jam and cream😁

Cafes tend to sell what they describe as scones though. I look at them before I buy. Some I give the go by based on appearance. The type that many supermarkets describe as scones are often more suited to throwing to the birds

Hi easy, we find rock buns are better when faced with seagulls.

Butter, cream, jam and more cream, the best of all worlds and no arguments about location etc, etc 😎

You are all missing the most important aspect and that is the scone must be warmed first ( a la National Trust.)
