Another sunny day, not as cold as it has been.
Bit of housework, washing etc nothing of much interest.
Shopping this afternoon once OH had finished with the lunch club, haggis neeps and tatties on the menu today. Quite a few enjoyed a nip of whisky to
Ribber bed now fitted to knitting machine and a few trials of ribbing done, wasn't happy with the cast on edge though as it was a bit untidy. Back to basics and read the book again, then again. Finally the penny dropped, pays to read the instruction properly all sorted now. Can't believe I'd forgotten how to use it. I must of been much smarter when I was younger.
Enjoy your trip Nellie, hope the weather stays fair for you.

Posted on 21/01/2020 19:55 by nelliethehookerHappy birthday, CS. Glad to hear that you had a good weekend in the Lakes.
Arrived on site spot on 12:00 and had a pick of 3 pitches. Before we got fully set up the other 2 pitches were occupied so this CL is full, 3 M/Hs and 2 caravans. We saw 1 caravan and 2 M/Hs on our run from home.

This weekend we stayed on the CCC site at Keswick (didn't see Corners!) but we were amazed at the number of MHs.
Obviously we tend to see more MHs in winter than caravans and I accept that Keswick CCC due to its location is probably one of the best sites in this country for motorhomers ( to be honest one of the best sites full stop). I would estimate that only 10 -15 % were caravans.
I'm sure as the better weather approaches the proportion will change but it does seem that the increase in MHs is here to stay.

Same from me too, Robsail.
Good news for your OH, millie
Hope you managed to get you CL of choice booked, WN.
Lovely sunny day after early morning low cloud. We walked from the site along The Dales Way towards Bolton Bridge beside the R.Wharfe. Lots of birds and Snowdrops about.

After 4 days of sunshine today was mild and damp. Trip into town for a hair cut and some shopping, then work this afternoon.
Watched ouf local news tonight and apparently one of the white tailed eagles from the Isle of Wight has taken up residence with the Red Kites in Oxfordshire, will have to keep a look out.
Good news on the results for your OH Millie .
Sounds like a lovely day Nellie, enjoy your trip.

We noted the same at Seacroft there were more motor caravans than caravans , there was always a queue at the bus stops or people from site walking into and from Cromer
Never saw any motor caravans in the Lidl store car park, which is out of town without transport link

Horrible damp misty day. Not so good for what's happening - BBC North West Tonight are coming after dinner to do some filming and staying to do a live link during the programme. We are one of three farms followed throughout the year. There's not much interesting stuff happenning at the moment, so I think the plan is to go down to the wood and beck and look at our wildlife camera (otters etc).
It may all change is there's some better "Breaking News". I will be keeping well away.

Even with a caravan at Seacroft I would use the Coast Hopper bus service for travelling as it stops at most towns, villages and bird reserves. If you go to most CL’s in North Norfolk in the winter you will probably find more caravans than MH
