Missed your post earlier for some reason Ttda.

Boy oh boy. You need a Guardian Angel from somewhere. Any idea where the food poisoning came from? We both send our best wishes to you. What a week!

Francis you won't be disappointed with a stay near Richmond - jealous? Moi?

Car was saying 29 when I took dog to the groomers. The clouds did clear and some humidity went. We've had very warm nights but it doesn't feel as bad as in our last house. Except last couple of nights when my body ran a temperature. Still very achy and very sore throat but ibuprofen keeping it reasonable.

Monday I knocked a whole mug of tea over the side of our cream sofa and the lounge cream carpet. I treated both the same and no sign of it on the sofa - different story on the carpet, even tried the steam cleaner on it. Of all the carpets in the house only the lounge and hall stairs and landing, they match, have been considered worth retaining..... Got a specialist cleaner coming tomorrow 🤞

I'm loving sitting in the lounge and watching the bats, stops the bites 😉

Just had a look at hoses and reels thanks Wherenext long time since we've bought one so rather surprised 😱 at current prices, naturally we'll need the longest!

Edit I'm sorry for earlier duplicate post, this site....... Recent posts have appeared immediately and as it seems extra slow tonight I feared I may not have pressed reply hard enough, it often happens!

A quiet day for us having had a week in Hertfordshire, looking after son and family’s dog and granddaughter although, at 14, she was quite happy doing her own thing.  We will have the dog here for 2 weeks in 10 days time so it was handy to get to know him again and get used to the ‘manic - ness’!!  We will need a holiday after that I think, although we probably won’t be going to our local Club site after receiving this email today ………..

Dear Mr ********,

As you've stayed at York Beechwood Grange Club Campsite before with us, we wanted you to be the first to know there's still some last minute availability. Get away for less this summer with 3 nights for just £146.40^ and make new memories.

We laughed at the JUST !!!!!!   Now we know why we use CL’s where we can.

I got one of those for the New Forest Centenary site, £155.40 for three days!!! I didn't think it that brilliant a site anyway when we last stayed there and over £50 night has just confirmed that!!! Perhaps the bottom has fallen out of the touring bubble? I have had several of these emails recently but never recall getting them in the past. Funny how they can send out emails promoting sites but can't send out emails reminding people of the new arrival time.

Been a quiet few days here since we got back from holiday. Weather not been great been wet and breezy the last couple of days. Booked a week away for September at Richmond Hargill House club site we’ve not been there before so any suggestions would be welcome

Posted on 03/08/2022 22:00

Francis it has been a few years since we stayed at Hargill House but we found it a lovely fairly small site with lovely views. I endorse everthing that TDA says about places to visit. Richmond is a lovely town and so is Reeth further up Swaledale. Tan Hill, the highest pub in England is well worth a visit. If you are interested in trains Shildon Railway Museum is also a good day out. It is slightly further afield, between Darlington and Bishop Auckland. I gather the Bishops Palace at Bishop Auckland now open to the public.

What a week😱 Everything going well for OHs recovery, last Weds got a call from sister, she had possibly broken her ankle. Nine hours in A&E, X-ray, thankfully no break, but very bad sprain. Got to stay off it for next two weeks. So that left me looking after OH, sister and my Mum, and our less than mobile elderly pooch😱 Talk about a full day, every day. And then OH and I threw in a delightful bout of food poisoning Saturday/Sunday which I got over reasonably well, but OH is still struggling, his immunity is so compromised at the moment.

I definitely need a holiday😁

Oh goodness TDA what a week you have had. I send my very best wishes and hope things improve for you all soon

Thanks TDA , WN and Millie for the great ideas we will look in to each and see what we fancy although I think a trip to the Tan Hill Inn will certainly be on the agenda I’ve read about it lots but so far never managed a pint there

OH Tda they say things happen in threes, so a speedy recovery from us and take care.

Just wish we could have some of the UK rain and a another hot day 40C on forecast so some watering done early and out for a bit more shopping as Carrefour still not got granny smith apples which OH likes with his breakfast so will go the other way today and also have to go to the post office to post a small parcel to UK just see what paperwork they need for that.

We popped over to see friends who have come back from UK now moved rest of stuff from rented house over there and now sorting it out as she is already established here and working part time but he taken early retirement from Chinook simulator training he had enough of the new bosses so now here full time and now got to sort everything out for him hence OH and his computer skills in use ready to book an interview with local prefecture in Cahors along with a mountain of paperwork in English and French he has already got a 6 month visa but has to get residency paperwork going before 3 months are up so a few busy months ahead glad all ours are done.

Take care folks and those away enjoy your breaks we are looking forward to ours next month.

Well I'd like some too and we live in the UK 🤣🤣. We haven't had anything except odd mist like for moments.... when I posted photos of what I believe are called puddles and we had to stand under the canopy of a tree for less than 5 minutes while some moisture moved through we were about 6 miles from home. Luckily we have no hosepipe ban and the water company says it'll be unlikely but use water sensibly. I use the hosepipe for all our pots with 'moved' plants which are situated I groups around the front back and side gardens.

I was astonished at comments, made by members of the public, in regions where a ban is coming in about water use. I think our hobby concentrates the mind on use of all resources!

Looks like it's going to be another warm one - as much as I'd love some moisture let's hope it waits until the last of the harvest is in. Then some to allow autumn sowing will be very welcome I'm sure. Enjoy your day folks

Perhaps I shouldn't complain that we don't get emails from the club!? wink Although we did get just one  I now can't remember the details.

Do hope things improve for the TDAs, best wishes to you all. Hope your OH is starting to feel better.

Well after a brief glimpse of rain and a slightly cooler night the forecast is on the up. We are off to an £11 THS soon looks like we'll be back to 30C but at least we're right on the coast.

Not so easy to move to France now Redkite. Our friends moved back from the Limousin but kept a small dilapidated place to do up for the family and have not been able to spend as much time visiting and renovating as hoped. Either way things have certainly changed.

Hope you find the right hosepipe and reel B2 we have an extra long one which is very useful, quite old so not worth recommending.

Now now Brue,  there is nothing wrong in recommending old things, some of us are quite useful  cry.

Hoping that  everybody swiftly recovers from aches, pains, mysterious sore throats, as well as long term problems stopping them from getting out and about and enjoying this " Green and Pleasant Land " to the full  smile even if its none too green where you are  !!
