Right  now  I'm  celebrating  the  fact  that  I  didn't  get  SKY  so  I  could  watch ( so  very  nearly  said  enjoy yell)  the  England  v West Indies  test  cricket.  After  all  the  wonderful  reports  of  how  the  team  is  building  up  into  a  World  Beating  Side  it  seems  that  it's  just  another  race  to  the  pits.  I'm  getting  the  feeling  that  watching  Sunday  football  between  a  couple  of  over age  pub  teams  will  bring  much  more  excitement  &  pleasure  until  Easter Egg  Rolling  commences  wink

Not the best start 0-2 after 3 balls!!

I'm sorry but that pitch wasn't fit for a Sunday league team to play on.

When Joe Root takes 5-8 against the best batting side in the world on their home ground you know that a mouse has more chance against a Cobra than Englands fragile batting against spinners of the quality that India have.

It was a disgrace and maybe England would have lost anyway but this sort of match does nothing to enhance Test Match credentials unlike the first test.

Oh dear, WN,  The Indians etc probably think along those lines when they face an 'English' seam packed side on a Headingly green 'un !

We were, mainly, astounded by the selection of so many pace / seam bowlers when they could barely make six overs each without calling for iced rub-downs all round embarassed  Still we will see if they have learned anything at all by Start of Play on the same ground next Wednesday at 04:00 am GMT . But Brian is not too enthusiastic / optimistic sniffle sniff cry

Ah but India have had the experience of having some of their talent over here playing county cricket Brian. I mean, Kapil Dev wasn't too shabby as a fast 'un was he?

And as for Ice Cube rub downs, I have a need after visiting Tesco every week, even in the depths of winter.surprisedlaughing

We've sent Moeen home to recover after one game, but he was "Bought" for £ 700,000**  in the Selection Process for the Indian  Premier League, their version of the Big Bash, so they don't think he's that bad on Indian tracks !

** something like70 million Rupees I understand

Now I notice that Chris Woakes has been sent home as part of the " Rotational Policy " of the England Cricket touring party  --  utterly bonkers** , having toured with them all winter and not got a game at all.

** notice that for self control if you please !!

Control yourself Brian wink

There seems to be plenty of "bonkers" decisions made recently. Perhaps wearing these masks is starving us of vital oxygen and "fodder for us 'eads?" Who knows? Life in general just seems barmy at the moment. Last weekend, I sat on the sofa and tried to tune in to the crikkit!! winklaughing
