How's your footy team doing?

I'm starting this thread again because it seems to have been a casualty of the change over to the new site. The Terriers scecured another away win last night at Burton. Two wins in a row now after a barren spell. It'll all go pear shaped on Friday when we go to Norwich because the game is to be televised , we haven't won on the telly for ages.

Thinking of Ladies in Boots, I think we took a full team of them to Gillingham tonight.  frown

Good goal-less point for you both tonight , Roger & Moulesy, mates  wink

''Twas a game of fine margins. Town hit the woodwork four times!

I had to explain to my OH that although the posts and crossbar are made of metal we still say "hit the woodwork "

That got me thinking about another misnomer extensively used in football. We talk about the ball " hitting the back of the net" when in fact the ball hits the front of the net, the back is the bit that faces the crowd.

I need to go and lie down in a darkened room

Peterborough 2 ~~ 0  Crewe

Not going to complain, we cannot afford promotion, but holding steady in mid table would suit ABM nicely.

Hope all others had the sort of day & results that they Honestly expected smile

Just seen Peterboro v Crewe on Freeview ch 12 { Quest }  and have to admit I've played on pitches like  Peterboro's but only when the ice-rink had thawed -- very poor

Hey, a magnificent goalless draw against the mighty (now Barton less) Fleetwood yesterday.

Big week coming up for The Gas - home matches against Oxford and the even more hopeless Swindon Town. If they can't get points from that bunch then, as Private Fraser would say "we're  doomed, all doomed"! frown
