I can't see the original sticky so will start a new thread.  Saw nearly 30,000 knot on Breydon Water yesterday.  Great weekend at Minsmere, Otter, Kingfishers, Bitterns, lots of Marsh Harriers

Looking out of the window and it doesn't look like I will get anywhere today.

So it's the next dry day......

Starlings....

600 Barnacle Geese over Southwold .......

Possibly Waxwings in Lowestoft......

OP....I will watch your progress in Waxwing spotting.

A while back I was sat  watching the TV when there was a bump on the patio door and lay on the patio stunned was a drop dead gorgeous kingfisher I've seen a few but never this close, so it was placed in a box and the RSPCA called I then decided to transfer him into a better box and that's when I found how powerful their beaks are, it was duly collected checked over and released

We had similar with a great spotted woodpecker, sadly didn't survive but beautiful close up.

This week the birds have been literally flocking into our garden, so we've had the usual long tailed tits in large numbers, also a tree creeper and our resident blackcaps are becoming more visible. Not to mention the grey squirrel who seems to be a permanent feature. I found a blackbirds nest when I was out gardening today, very close to our windows but we never spotted the activity!

Back to the garden now, more work to do. smile

Have had a Tawny owl Twitting the last few nights behind us at Broadway and the other week when at Burford we had a hedgehog walking behind our pitch not an usual sight on a club site very busy with the worms.

Went back to Lowestoft but no Waxwings found.  Had a walk along Breydon Water, lots of geese passing overhead but few waders as tide was right in.

We saw Hawfinches at Fountains Abbey yesterday, a first for us. Plenty of Redwings around as well. Couple of Red Kites wheeling around over Spofforth as we drove through.
