Following on from another bumper year of fledglings good news as they gather with previous years birds at the shortest channel crossing point to venture south. Hopefully these birds will return to increase the UK wild population even further in future years!

White Stork Project

“The GB white storks are on the move!

Over the last couple of days some of our storks have flown across the channel into France, the map shows the movement of GBD8, bred at the Cotswold Wildlife Park and released at Knepp last week. The journey so far has taken around two days.

We are excited to follow the movement of this bird and our other satellite tagged storks and will shortly be sharing more updates on their movements on our website: https://www.whitestorkproject.org

We have had reports of sightings of many white storks flying around Dover this week and it is likely that they are crossing together in groups.”
