I've just complete the bird watch for this year. Decided to do it today as high winds are forecast for tomorrow and thought it would affect the count. Sadly I only saw one robin and one pigeon during the hour. 😐 There were four gulls flying over the garden but I didn't count them because they didn't land.....thought that would be cheating! 😊

I think I've missed the boat, the winds have got going here and the forecast is 50mph. I see the dates are 26-28th so maybe I'll manage it on the 28th.

Yesterday would have been better as not much about today and over here the LPO are doing a similar bird count but also do another later in the year which is different to RSPB,probably join the LPO here soon and see what they are like.  We will be having sign going up soon due to the toads being on the move and one area near one of our local ponds has had temporary fencing put up to guide the toads to a particular path and noticed last year that the local LPO  were doing all the work. Weather very dull today and strong winds for Sunday so not good.

OH decided to do it today, it's very windy and we can see the birds sheltering but a few have come out for food. He got quite a meagre count but a reasonable variety.

I got 14 species and perhaps 35 individual birds in my half a tennis court sized garden.

I think we've got 20 + species in our garden, we've gradually built up areas to encourage them and give some cover too.
