How is everyone doing for snowdrops in your area? Been round my local area - Astley Park in Chorley Lancs - and this years display is woeful, compared to previous years. The big display areas, normally a blanket of white are very sparse. Still worth visiting but not a patch on what they can be. Blame the weather?

Despite  sister's  garden  fence  being  seriously  disturbed  by  neighbour  painting  it  the  snowdrops  have  ignored  all  interference  &  insisted  on  doing  whatever  snowdrops  do !!  Popped  up  quite  happily  despite  Herself  getting  a  load  more  "In the Green"  delivered  this  last  w/end  !

Loads out here, they are lovely. It's a brave crocus that is in flower up here at the moment! Seen odd one in a very sheltered spot, but most are just coming up. Minus 2 outside at the moment here! Brrr...... I put a few pots in, snowdrops and aconites, but the cold drove me back in today. Bone chillingsurprised

Our garden snowdrops have been out for quite a while, crocuses and early daffs too. We're hoping to visit Forde Abbey soon, (south of Crewkerne on the way to Lyme Regis.) Every year they have a lovely display of early spring flowers, we keep missing them and only see the tail end. This year we'll make more of an effort!

see here FORDE ABBEY

Glad you are more successful than me. The front garden display is poor but the back garden snowdrops are good. Must go to one of our biggest displays - Lytham Hall - see how theirs are. Usually fantastic. My birthday today, perhaps it will be my treat.

We're not more successful we just live a bit further south so our snowdrop season starts quite early, but the big displays are only just out.

Happy Birthday Eeyoresdad, have a lovely day, hope you get to see the snowdrops. smile

Had  the  motor  on  'Road  Test'  today  &  saw  some  amazing  quantities  of  Daffs  various  out  there  on  verges  near  farm  houses  tween  Knutsford,  Holmes  Chapel  &  Middlewich.  Could  it  be  that  some  Cheshire  farmers  have  taken  the  chains  off  their  wallets,  surely  not  ??

P.S.  Hope  you  had  a  great  Birthday,  E  !!  ( did  you  get  that  treat  ??)
