April  starts  the  season  of  'Osprey  hunting'    for  me .

So  off  to  RSPB  Loch  Garten,  on-line  of  course,  and  the  sites  up, just  about,  but  no  Ospreys  as  yet.

So  over  to  Scottish  Wildlife Trusts  "Loch  of  The  Lowes"  Website  and,  and    Surprised  not  one  but  two  Ospreys  &  mating  in  full  view  of  the  cameras  !  Its  not  the  aged  "Lady"  but  a  new  female  now  in  residence,  so  we'll  have  to  see  if  the  old  girl  turns  up  at  all.  Well  she  is  believed  to  be  in  the  high  twenties  now,  darn  near  Geriatric  as  far  as  Ospreys  go !  I  understand  Rutland  has  a  number  of  arrivals   so  I  must  keep  watching  Loch  Garten  for  more  tales  of  Bad Bird  Behaviour  !!

Didn't  see  either  variety  of  Osprey  while  I  was  at  Thetford  last  week,  OP  but  I  did  spend  a  while  glaring  at  a  couple  of  muntjac  chomping  away  and  watching  me  while  I  was  also  chomping  away   surprised.

Wonder  if  the  Wardens  could  try  teaching  them  manners  undecided ??

Indeed  they  have  mickysf  !!

EJ  the  resident  female  at  Loch  Garten  has  returned according  to  BBC Scotland  on  Wednesday  so  she's  had  time  for  a  rest  after  the  flight  home ( If  Scotland  can  be  classed as  'home'  to  a  migratory  bird undecided )

Now  just  time  for  her  to  tart  up the  nest,  which  is  full  of  green  vegetation  that  some  call  grass  and  others  might  call  her  mattress  laughing.  And  after  that,  and  a  fish  or  three  she'll  be  looking  for  a  mate  BUT  will  Odin  make  a  return  or  will  it  be  another  male  ??

Time  Will  Tell  !!

P.S. / Edit  --  just   had  a  look  at  the  video  from  Loch  Garten  &  the  only  snow  visible  is  a  few  patches  on  one  of  the  distant  higher  hills  so  perhaps  Spring  really  HAS  arrived  cool

And  I've  just  seen,  via  Carnyx  Wild,  EJ  the  'resident'  female  osprey  sitting  on  the  nest  at  Loch  Garten  looking  quite  fit  &  well  after  her  long  flight.  Looking  all  around  and  standing  om  the  edge  of  the  nest  wondering  where  the  " Boss  Bird"  has  got  to laughing !

It's  one  thing  to  be  told  they  have  returned,  but  it's  another  thing  to  see  them  with  ones  own  eyes  .

Have you ever had the feeling you are being watched cool  This cheeky chap was watching my dogs chasing after their ball this morning.

Then on the way out the park this pair of Parakeets came to feed on the berries of a tree.

Thanks brue and nellie for posting links. Saw 1 Osprey preening just now via nellie's link but just nest via brue's .  Will keep checking back on both.
