I recently posted on the Easter availability thread regarding having to cancel a booking at Chatsworth CMC because our rescue westie was very ill & was asked to update a number of members from the forum who had shown an interest in his wellbeing , thank you.πŸ‘

We think he's around 13 and had a severe internal infection that appears to be getting better with new medication although he still retains some loss of rear leg mobility , but with gentle short walks the vet thinks it will improve.

Norfolk is still looking good in June & he should be able to enjoy his much loved walks on Brancaster beach but will be shortened.

We are away at Carsington Water early May for our first of many planned this year...... hopefully we can enjoy them all..... together. πŸ•πŸ‘«

My three Westies send Archie best wishes for a complete recovery. Hope he can soon enjoy his caravan trips again. My three are a little miffed that our Somerset week at Easter had to be cancelled as I was called in for surgery on my hand. Looking forward now to our week in May.

I have a Westie cross Jack Russel who looks identical to Archie. Tried to put a photo on but can't seem to do it. Don't know why as haven't any problem on other sites.

Sorry to hear about Archie it is heart breaking. Our little miniature schnauzer Oscar  nearly 13 had a very similar problem in early April we nearly lost him, he is a little better now but not himself, like you cancelled everything till he was better, we lost his brother Max on the 10th January after a short ill ness we still struggling with that one.

Hi & thanks for your reply hope your Oscar gets well  & back to some kind of normal soon.

Archie has done really well , we had a short trip out a fortnight ago & he was fine.

Norfolk this sunday for a week on a lovely CL  , we think he's ready & no doubt Brancaster beach walks will be his highlights of our stay.

Thanks again & best wishes for Oscar's future health.

Small update on Archie .

He's ok , doing well & still with us.

In fact he's done that well  next year's  June North Norfolk 2 weeks trip is already booked  , as are a couple of local peak District visits in March & April with a view to visit Stamford in May.

we still have to watch how far we walk him  & it's taking things a month at a time.

Hopefully every member's pets are in good health & enjoying life too.πŸ‘

Excellent news compass, and well done to you. Our old lad continues to limp along. He’s on enough enough medication to fettle a rhino, but he’s still doing daft things. Eyes have been bad for months, possibly as a result of meds, and he sees a specialist eye vet every month (😱), but he can still see a carrot, spot a biscuit, so he’s doing ok. Birthday in January, we didn’t think he’d make double figures, but fingers crossed, he should make it.😁
