Watching the local news tonight and the mayor of Bristol is proposing a clean air zone from 2021 which will have a diesel free zone in the centre which looks like it will include Baltic Wharf.

This will be in effect from 7am to 3pm, with a £100 fine for entering the zone.

If this comes into effect it will make it very difficult for any diesel tow cars or motorhomes to use the Baltic Wharf site,

Pure electric motorhomes are a long way off,

Not so, a New Zealand company already has them for hire.  I think the problem for us with electric motorhomes will be driving licence restrictions. They will all be in excess of 3.5 tons.

UK is a small country, travel distances are not great so I would think the use of an electric motorhome in the UK would be quite feasible..

I didnt say that electric motorhomes wouldnt be available, white van mans demands, mean that prototypes are already being tested but at what a cost ? And as you stated, at what a weight ?

I already have my 'last' motorhome,I wont be buying another, electric or not.

Electric towcars will be more of a problem (Tesla x  excepted)  the cost is the limiting factor.

Tesla X gives me some faith in electric car technology. It’s an ugly beast, but wow, does it perform. But at £85k or more, how many of us will be able to afford electric cars that indulge all of car loving vices? A lot of the small ‘green cars’ on the market seem to be only one step up from the so called ‘invalid carriages’ we saw in the 1950/60s. For some urban dwellers who use cars simply as motorised shopping trolleys, that’s fine. However, a lot of folks expect a lot more from their cars.

Blank post because fed up of seeing the opening post as the latest on the discussions page.

It would help if the mods put something below the last Deleted User post, as this seems to cause this problem.
