That was my first van a Lunar from about 1970. We had a great introduction to caravanning and always thought where we went was more important than the vintage of the van, bought new after that and kept it 16 years but I dont have tinted glasses about old kit.

Looks like a Vauxhall, possibly an HC Viva?

No , it’s a Datsun , last taxed in 1989 !

Looks a nice outfit AD. I think it’s a bit like old cars, some people like them, others not as much, different interests. I came from a family who didn’t own a car, so didn’t have an early childhood touring background. But I loved my OH’s cars and our first caravan. We still have the second one!😂

It was a Datsun Cherry I think, 1600 cc. but that picture was in 1980.

The Cherry was smaller than that.

The Cherry was definitely small. Didn't it eventually evolve into the NIssan Micra?
