Thanks so much everyone for your top tips - there's been some good suggestions.
Just to advise, we are also always looking at ways we at the Club can be more eco-friendly, the new magazine wrap being a prime example.
With regards to the topic, a polite request to keep posts friendly and also on topic. Many thanks.

Touring almost entirely in countries with 80km/hour speed limits and most days glad to achieve anything over over 70k/hr average, I am getting the sort of fuel consumption I could only have dreamt about just a few years ago. On our last trip of 2500 miles towing 1500kg, car loaded for "kitchen sink" type camping, roof box and 2 ebikes I got over 34mpg whilst towing (measured brim to brim). Our Yaris runabout at home struggles to match it.

Posted on 14/02/2020 17:37 by Freddy55You’re right about the “right foot”. My current car (Ford Kuga) is the first car I’ve had that has cruise control. I’ve found that engaging it at every practical opportunity really improves mpg, when keeping to a sensible speed.

This is your first car with cruise? Blimey! ... what have you been driving?😉 The last car I had that did NOT have cruise was my 86 Carlton ..... subsequent cars have all had cruise.
Actually, your right foot will get better mpg than cruise cos it has the ability to back off a bit going up hill etc & won't bury the throttle to get back to the set speed in the event of having had to slow down in traffic etc But I do use cruise myself at it keeps my speed in check .... 😏😏
