Posted on 13/02/2020 10:09 by peedeeI think I would be concerned about using bottle water even more so from shops which may have dispensers of dubious quality. I few years ago it was shown that most bottled water had more bacteriia in it than tap water which in most countries is now of a high quality. However I do agree that some areas have dreadful tasting water even worse it makes terrible tea.

I can only recall once buying water. I couldn’t get my bottle under the tap in a public loo, and the dog needed a drink. We were on a very long, very hot journey and we had drunk all we had packed in car. So an extortionate amount was spent on some “special” Glastonbury water. I kept the plastic bottle and reused it for weeks. The dog was dunked in the nearest available river later in the day.
If the Club wants to become really eco friendly, it needs to realise it cannot rely on its membership to do the right thing. Keep the serviced pitches for those with special needs, limit the wattage at EHU, turn off the ruddy overnight lighting. Those that can adapt, carry a torch will flourish, everyone else can take up cottage/hotel/cruise ship holidays!
Less sites with facilities would help as well. 🤔

- Motorhomes to switch off engine whilst emptying at the waste point.
- Ban multi-laps of the site when searching for the 'ideal' pitch.
- Ban barbecues, one barbecue causes as much pollution as a 10 mile diesel car journey.
- Lights out at 10pm.
But really, a leisure industry attempting to pay lip service to saving the planet
