The Great British Campout

During last week I put up a post on here, advising people about the https://justgiving.com/fundraising/greatbritishcampout which has been a truly brilliant fund raising effort to support our hard working NHS workers and their associated volunteers.

I don’t know who was responsible for doing so, but whoever you are, go and hang your head in shame for deleting my post!

I am very pleased to say that throughout the Country this sterling fund raising effort has seen thousands of people sleeping out last night in their gardens and drives in motorhomes, caravans and tents and our combined efforts have so far raised an amazing £83,000 in aid of our amazing NHS.

Very fortunately every single other forum and facebook group I am on, championed this amazing fund raising effort, but for some unknown reason, not the Caravan & Motorhome Club!

Moderator Comment - Your post was not Deleted User, just moved to the correct section, see here  https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/club-together/discussions/welcome-hobby-talk/caravan-motorhome-chat/help-our-nhs-this-saturday-and-camp-on-your-drive/ Unfortunately we do not have a PM facility on this forum but you can always check your Profile details to find posts. It is a pity you didn't give the same detail in your original post as it was a bit vague as to what the money was actually being raised for. Please feel free to comment in the thread linked but I will close this one to avoid duplication.

I don't recall you giving us that link previously, I think you gave a FB link and that wasn't to a fundraising page. Not everyone uses FB.

The link was indeed to a very different page and led to doubts and confusion.

I suspect it’s always as well to run things like this past Rowena before posting, tbh.

I would suggest instead of berating folk that you actually have a proper look on this forum. You will find your post in its appropriate place, namely in the Charity section, second from the bottom of the forum front page. It has numerous posts from members.

Maybe after seeing it you proffer an apology to those folks who should be hanging their heads in shame?

Personally speaking like so many other members of the Club I find this forum to be amongst the worst managed of any forum that I/we know!

I posted my original message on here and surely I should have been advised by a PM that it had been moved to an area of this woefully awful site where I vouch, very few people look!

This entire and amazing effort started on Facebook, it wasn't and never was a government linked effort, however as any of us who have ever run similar campaigns, they all have to link via a central hub.

As it has from the outset been a private effort, this is why I gave the link I gave in my original post!

You can gather by this Wherenext that no apology is going to be given!

like so many other members of the Club... that I/we know!

I am amazed you are in contact with so many and can speak for their beliefs in this matter? Just out of interest what do you class as so many out of all the members. The proportion of club members that actually post on this site is very small I would say.

But as above your original link was confusing and didn't lead anywhere.
