I'm wondering if three episodes is not "an episode too far". I watched "Independence Day" the other evening, not having seen it before. Tongue in cheek chewing gum version of a similar plot line but enjoyable for all that.

I didn't expect to enjoy it, but was pleasantly surprised. Whether the standard will be maintained over 3 episodes remains to be seen. I reread the book a couple of years ago before reading Stephen Baxter's sequel "The Masacre of Mankind". HG Wells was truly years ahead of his time!

hopefully going to Spain for a few months early next year, so i might just spend a few hours reading the book just so that i can form an opinion as to how bad or good the drama was, but the ending did leave me a little confused.undecided
