The last two weeks I have been receiving two e'mails per day informing me about new post that have been but on a discussion that I have joined in.  I have been a member of CT from day one, but have never had this happen before.  I have contacted Rowena and had a reply and followed the instructions to stop this happening,  but I am still getting one at 8.01am and one at 8.01pm that I do not require,   how can I stop it happening.

I occasionally catch the follow tab, which is to the right of the number of replies and alongside of jump to last post, by accident. It changes to unfollow.

I then get emails until I change it back to follow by touching on it again.

It always puzzled me that I had to click 'follow' in order to post on a discussion. The usual result was an Email  telling me how many replies there were after mine.

Of late these e-mails seem to have ceased - well done IT dept!

I do hope they do not resurrect the automatic bombardment of my e-mail 'in' box. It has been a peaceful week or two.

I’m puzled why you would need to click 'follow' in order to post🤔

'Follow' is for following and 'Compose a reply' is for posting. I’ve never clicked 'follow' and you describe.

The "follow" is used by some who don't want to look at the whole of CT so they just follow what interests them and join in if they want to reply to something specific.

I'm like Steve I've occasionally pressed one of the tabs like "follow" or "like" by accident.

I fail to understand why CT or to give it's title C&MC need to send two e'mails per day for two weeks,  when if I am interested in something that's ongoing I will just log in and join in.

You’ll only get the mails if you’ve clicked 'follow'.

Click 'unfollow' and they will cease. It’s within your control.
