Please could someone tell me how do you add your profile picture after you have downloaded flash?  I have looked everywhere in FAQ and discussions but for the life of me can't find out how to add it.

Thank you

Karen

Because Adobe Flash is open to attacks most, if not all browsers will block it by default even after being downloaded.

Microsoft Edge browser blocks it, click on the security lock in the address bar of your browser, then Site Permissions, then look for Adobe Flash, then Allow it.

Chrome browser blocks it by default, click on the security lock in the address bar, you should see Flash, allow it.

Other browsers or operating system I don't know, but because Flash is old hat now and prone to attacks you will have to allow it in your browser settings somewhere.

Once allowed and in 'Your Profile' you should see something similar to the second picture.

I've come to the conclusion that it's impossible with the current web site.

I have tried numerous times on several devices with no joy.

I can add a photo to a discussion, as I have done here just to test it. However I cannot add a profile picture. The message I get is,

Upload failed. Must be a valid image (jpg, gif, png, bmp)

I have tried photos in all the above formats. Good luck!

It's nothing at all to do with adding photos to posts.

We've explained the process as best we can and, as you can see, it is achievable.

When did you last change your profile picture?

I have been in touch with the technical dept. via email and still had the same result. Their answer was to email them the picture I wanted to use along with my username & password and they would try to do it.

So I challenge you to change your profile picture and I'll be impressed.

There you go 'con', just changed it. You will see its different now from the couple of posts up where I added my two photos of my previous profile.. If you can't see it then clear your cache.

Well done! I am impressed. You have proved it can be done, and I mean that sincerely.

Just wish I could do it. I have tried on an iMac Catalina and a Windows 7 laptop and as previously mentioned the tech team couldn't help.

Maybe you should be given a job with the tech team!

Thank you for proving it can be done.

No problem, obviously I know it can be done but I also know that others on here find it nigh on impossible. I am using W10 but there must be anomalies somewhere on this site that is causing the failures to upload Profile images. My image by the way is a JPG, 245Kb and 1024 x 768 in dimension.

I think there has been a problem uploading profile pics from some devices for a long time. Most people had a visible photo and then these were lost, I can't remember whether it's actually device related/programming fault but it looks like it hasn't been resolved. If the tech team have offered help this might be the only solution at present.
