New members Gary and Genevieve here.

A little bit of background to us, we came to camping a little late in life when we got two dogs. We tired camping one year which proved to be successful, and to be honest I think the dogs enjoyed it more than we did and as a result have had a couple of trips per year since. Our long term plan was to get a motorhome for our retirement, which is rapidly approaching but it was a very wet week last year that made our minds up to get one now and use it for UK holidays and short tours whilst we are still working and then venture aboard once we are retired.  This started a long period of research on the type of layout that would suit our needs and accommodate the dogs, both on the large size. We hired a motorhome last September for a week which was very successful but made us decide we needed to go bigger.

We have a RollerTeam dealer close to us and they have proved to be very helpful and we decided on the Pegaso 740. We went to the NEC show in October to look at some others to compare against my list of must haves, nice to have etc. and the 740 still came out on top so we ordered it there to take advantage of the show upgrades.

We expect delivery in April and will take it to local Touring Park for a few days acclimatisation and are also booked on the motorhome manoeuvring   course in May. Our aim is to have our first trip out to the Southern Motorhome show at Newbury in May.

Will let you know if it meets our expectation in due course.

Welcome to CT. Not often you see an A Class at that sort of price. looks rather nice if I had a longer drive.

Welcome to the four of you! Now have you thought about what you are going to fill those cupboards with? From what I recall this cracking van has copious amounts of space on board. Just watch the weight!

Now enjoy our pastime!smile

mickysf thanks for the warning.

When I first started researching this new adventure I picked up pretty quickly on the payload issue so I created a spreadsheet and deducted the weight of the things we will carry away from the available payload: 2 dogs at 50kgs, I did say they are large, awning,  gas bottles , kitchen equipment etc. etc.  and in the end I think I had weight left for a tin of beans and a newspaper. So took advantage of a FOC manufacturer 3650kg up plate offer, so problem solved. The other advantage to that is that it will stop the ‘Dad can I borrow your van to take to a festival’ requests from the offspring.

We got good news today from our RollerTeam dealer that our MH is built and ready for shipment from Italy. So should get the handover mid-April and planning for 3 nights away at a local touring park to load it up with all the kit we have purchased over the past few months. Then hoping to get to the Southern Motorhome show at Newbury and have planned a 10 day tour of Norfolk in June.
