Good evening everybody, apologies if I have posted into the wrong section, I am new!  I am just looking for some information on our 1994 Avondale van, its an old van but has been entirelly overhauled, fitted with all new hardware/ Alarm system, Tracker and new uprated locks all round, im trying to get insurance for it and keep seeing the 15yrs or under, where Do I stand with this? How do I get it insured? Do Caravan club insurance cover vans this old?

Thank you so much in advance for any advice!

Hapoy Christmas.

I doubt the age of the van would have any implications for getting insurance, but would affect what type of insurance you can take out, in this club anyway

The 15 years is generally the cut off point for the " new for old" type insurance, so you should insure for "market value".

Hello,

I have a 18 year old eriba caravan and had it insured with the Caravan club but recently changed to the Camping and Caravan Club. So the answer is yes, most insurance companies will cover an older van.

Good luck

Welcome. I would advise wherever you take insurance with from what you say about your van that you take plenty of pictures incase then worst happens and then you have proof as to its refurb condition to assist with a claim.
