All in one electric cookers

We've been considering purchasing an all in one electric cooker for convenience and also as a cost saving move. They appear to be very versatile (such as the KitchenM8) and would operate from the electric hook up rather than eating away at the gas. Does anyone know whether the amperage is suitable for caravan use?

However if we ever needed heating on such a site then we would revert to gas.

Heating works better on gas although it does tend to cause a bit of condensation.

We have 4 gas burners, grill and oven which I always use when its not hot weather. In hot weather I tend to use a single electric hotplate, electric fry pan and the cadac, all cooking done outside.

Are Remoska really that good to warrant the huge cost?  my electric fry pan is ok, but its not very deep so trying to use it for making anything like a casserole it tends to over spill when it heats, if you turn it down it then seems to hardly ever come on, very frustrating. I'm looking for something a bit deeper that can simmer nicely, fry steadily without constantly going off, again really annoying.

Since I posted this I have bought a Morphy Richards Intelli chef multi cooker. Its great for grilling, frying, braise, boil, steam, fast stew, slow cook. It fits just nicely in the oven once the shelf is removed. So travels in there nice and safe. I can cook indoors or outdoors with it. Great for making curries, bolognase, chillies etc. But also good for frying, stir fries I've even made soup in it. You can braise in the bottom and put a rack higher up to steam veg or potatoes or do it the other way round put veg in the bottom and steam fish above it.

It now goes with us on every trip as its so versatile, we can even use it on 6amp sites.

I note that you asked about a Remoska in your earlier post.

Once, when needing to replace my Remoska (I really did not have the cheek to claim a replacement under the life time guarantee) I asked for advice on CT about alternatives.

But I ended up buying another Remoska (hang the expense). We have just changed our motorhome to something quite a bit more compact than the previous one and, come what may, I will find room for the Remoska. I cannot envisage travelling without it. I suppose it's all down to what we are used to.

(Curious how zombie threads pop up again.)

Hi WTG. I took a look at the Remoska. Thing is, we have one of those Halogen ovens and a slow cooker. Can the Remoska do anything that those two won’t do?

No idea about the halogen oven, sorry, since I have never used one. I use a slow cooker occasionally, but at home. I would not find room for it at the expense of the Remoska as I think the latter is more versatile as it will roast; bake; heat scones, quiche, pizzas; do a full breakfast; cook a casserole type meal along side jacket potatoes.... probably more.

Thanks for that. A halogen oven basically uses a halogen lamp (instead of an element) to heat a large glass cooking vessel. Basically, it’ll do pretty much anything an ordinary oven can. I must admit I’m a bit tempted by the Remoska, as it’ll save space, but that would mean discarding the Halogen oven and the slow cooker (we already have both at home). Maybe one day.
