Free £5 Lidl voucher

From Thursday, you'll find a voucher for £5 off when you spend £25 or more at Lidl (find your nearest) if you pick up the free Metro newspaper on Thu 22 Aug (available in lots of cities and their surrounding towns across England, Scotland & Wales – see map in ‘more info’ below). Once you have the voucher, just show it to the cashier when you pay – it’s valid from Fri 23 Aug until stores close on Wed 28 Aug. Unfortunately, this offer isn't available in Northern Ireland.

Can’t get hold of a free Metro newspaper?

The same voucher can be found in the Daily Mail (70p) on Sat 24 Aug and The Mail on Sunday (£1.80) on Sun 25 Aug. Though of course the cost of the newspaper means you’ll save a bit less than £5 overall, unless you’d usually buy the paper anyway.

The voucher can be used against anything in store including already-reduced items, but in Scotland alcohol is excluded. For England and Wales, there's an upper limit of two alcoholic products per voucher.

Unfortunately for us it's a no no, as we don't ever see a Metro & don't have a Lidl anywhere near us.yell

Nice one Nellie.  The Mail on Saturday is ยฃ1 but still a good saving wink, with luck it will also be in the electronic version.

There is also an electronic version of the metro. Usually though copies, hard or otherwise, are specifically excluded.โ˜น๏ธ

Also a long way to a Lidl for us. Numerous Aldis around though.

We have two within about a mile, one each side of the town, but annoyingly the Aldi is still being built.

Annoyingly DD?๐Ÿค”, any chance of saving money is good for everyone surely. I am super impressed with both Lidl & Aldi their tools particularly. Long live competition I say๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

We have lots of both not far away. I find Lidl rather different in terms of some products to Aldi, and Lidl usually have a very good instore bakery, something Aldi don’t have.

Mum often gets a Metro, so I will check it out. Nothing would persuade me to buy DM though!๐Ÿ˜

Yes, most of the stores are laid out identically. We have come across the odd “rogue”, but none of the faffing about moving things so beloved of Tesco/Asda/Sainsbury’s outlets. Don’t use Lidl much, but great for Xmas stuff. Do Croatia not have Tesco? Good for them if they don’t.
