An Idyll by the Broads

We made a booking to stay at Grange Farm Barns, James advised he would be on holiday but a family member would welcome us. We arrived & pitched, the choice was ours as we were the only ones to stay, and WOW what a gem of a place. Next day we were greeted by Ellie, nothing was to much trouble. She provided us with a much welcome information sheet of the area, pubs, buses etc. The site has a large lawn area with EHU along one side. A wooded area opposite, but not close enough to throw shade, and an orchard at the other end. The site is very convenient for getting into Norwich with the bus stopping outside the drive. Lots to do in the area, a long circular but worthwhile walk from the site takes you to the broads where there is a pub serving food.

A truly beautiful and peaceful place to stay.

We stayed here for 7 nights and we would have stayed here much longer if we could. It is truly beautiful here. The site is very well maintained and James welcomed us and gave us some local information which was much appreciated. The pitch we chose was surrounded by a beautiful meadow which we really enjoyed and we were free to site the caravan in the direction we chose. It is worth mentioning that the position of this site relative to occupied buildings gave us a feeling of security. This site is well positioned as a base for exploring the broads and we visited some wonderful gardens and riverside pubs in the area. We tend to explore different areas with each outing but if I was to return to this area, I would certainly stay here again. Thank you James and Sam.

One of the best CL sites we have ever stayed on in 20 years of caravanning.

What a great site, beautiful setting very peaceful . Well kept lawns and pitches with plenty of room. We walked into Norwich and bused back after exploring. The bus will stop right outside the site .Easy walk to local pubs and the owner even gave a leaflet with things to do including a map to help us find our way and bus time table. Lots of wild life on site squirrels, muntjac deer, rabbits, a mole that put in an appearance one morning and all sorts of birds. I would not hesitate to visit again. Take your time when entering the site as it can be a little tight but no problem if you take it slow. One of the best CLS we have stayed on in 20 years of caravanning.

A beautiful and peaceful setting

This very quickly became one of our favourites. James has created a real haven of woodland tranquillity which has a real charm. Our pitch was nestled between two horse chestnut trees and the occasional chicken, rabbit and squirrel visitor was very welcome. It was lovely to hear the birds on waking in the morning. We had a lovely walk to the riverside pub and a very easy bus trip into Norwich which is a beautiful city. We will definitely be back!

Mature Couple

Our third visit to this site and again we enjoyed it very much. Very easy access from and to the Norwich by-pass. Bus service to Norwich and onwards from the gate - we did not use our car during the 4 days we spent at the site. Plenty of shade on the very hot days at the beginning of September.

excellent site

This is the first time we stopped at this site. Need to know where the entrance is and getting inti the site is a little tight. Once in the site there is plenty of space The site is well located for visiting places in the Norwich area Site is excellent and both James and Samantha are very helpful There was a bonus in that we could purchase the apple juice which is very nice Will definitely return here next time we are in the area

Absolutely loved this site!

Stayed on 29th April, initially booked for 2 nights but ended up staying 4 and could easily have done more, £20 on with EHU. After the first night we had the site to ourselves and moved from the grass to the hardstanding. James was the most perfect host, attentive but not intrusive, and as it was Bank Holiday weekend he apologised for having a family barbecue get together, no apologies needed, there was absolutely no inconvenience to us whatsoever. The pitches are spacious and level, absolute peace and quiet but with the lovely company of his 7 chickens who were fascinating. A bonus was some lovely fresh eggs with a blue shell. This is a definite return if in the area again.

A pleasant stay with caveats

Peace and tranquility should've been top marks here, but sadly not. The back garden we stayed in was nice but having your quiet BBQ at sunset spoiled by James tearing around on his tractor mowing grass on the last night until nearly 9pm really soured the deal. We were the only people camping. It could've waited! We were also overcharged significantly and have received no correspondence since. I think £25 per night with no toilet or shower is pushing it - it says £15 all in + £5 for an additional guest on this website. It sounds like nitpicking but we're paying to stay in your garden please have some consideration? I will amend this review if I receive any comeback that changes my opinion

Second visit to this CL

Lovely quiet site. Repeat visit .Very helpful site owner. Hope to visit again later in the year. Just take care on entry with larger outfits. No problem if you enter slowly and use mirrors. Bob& Toni CC members for 40+ years

Fantastic CL

What’s not to love with this CL! Beautiful field with loads of room, peaceful with charming village church bell chiming. You have so many quiet lanes and footpaths you can go in all directions and find wonderful scenery, the river is of course tranquil and mesmerising. On your way back to the site you can try an English wine at Winbirri Vineyard, and if you are lucky, James may be offering to cook wood fire pizzas in the orchard which are absolutely delicious and highly recommended. Can’t rate this site highly enough, we feel so lucky as Club members that these wonderful CL owners let us share their piece of countryside. Thank you.
