Stop over

We stayed at Boxted for a short stopover prior to moving on to a dog agility competition in Ipswich, what a great little find, would definitely return for a longer stay to explore the area more.

Lovely Sire

A lovely site, easy communication with the owner, stayed 2 nights in July. Site quiet, facilities well kept and clean, field grass but nicely mowed. Alpacas in next field were very cute to watch and unlike horses didn’t smell. This is our second visit and would come again

Perfect location for a exploring Historic Colchester & Constable Country

This CL is beautifully kept, facilities (2 toilets and showers) kept clean and the owners such lovely people. With Alpacas & horses in the paddock behind and an enormous dog exercising field too, it feels like your far out in the country, but in fact your very close to exploring Britains oldest recorded city, Suffolks Constable country or impressive Colchester Zoo. With a very good garden centre and full restaurant opposite the CL, this location is excellent. We’ve already stayed here a couple of times and have booked to come back again.

Country lanes and lazy days

Stayed 6 nights, had a great time. Easy to find, entrance is narrow but we managed with no issues with big twin axle. Site is a lovely short cut field set back from the road with trees and hedge for summer sun shelter. It was really easy to pitch as it's fairly level. Road noise was not an issue and it was really quiet at night. EHU & recycling, chemical disposal is a manhole but fine for these small sites. What some small campervans might really like is the 2x shower/loo cubicles, very clean and nice, use of the hot shower is charged via a coin meter. The highlight was the Alpaca's in the ajoining field so cute and peaceful to just sit and watch. Location is great for visit to Colchester and some lovely country bike rides.

Fab cl with very welcoming owners

Have stayed here a few times and can’t fault it. Owners couldn’t be any friendlier and helpful. Lovely surroundings and walks from the site made even better by now having access to pathways through owners fields so avoiding walking our dogs on the main road and site includes a dog exercising area. Campsite is well kept and has very clean showers and toilets. This site is very close to us so therefore is a fabulous bolt hole for me when I’ve finished work on a Friday to get away for a few nights. Close to lots of interesting places to visit if you’re visiting this area. Paul and I highly recommend this cl, pay a visit you won’t be disappointed.

Excellent site

This is an extremely attractive and well-kept site. Great for dog-walking. Really useful and well-written email from the owners on booking. Worth checking out the site's website and Facebook page too. PS. Beautiful alpacas 🤭

3night stay

Lovely site easy access from A12 and just 10 minutes from historic Colchester. Site is well maintained and toilet/showers kept really clean. Had a peaceful stay and Kate is friendly and helpful. Public footpaths easily accessed from the site. We took a lovely walk (under an hour) to Shepherd & Dog PH in nearby Langham for lunch, good food at a reasonable price and dog friendly. Saturday took a slightly longer walk to The Anchor in Nayland, another dog friendly pub with excellent food. A perfect CL, will definitely visit again.

Perfect Essex CL

Just had a very enjoyable 3 night stay at this CL. Very well maintained all grass pitches, two showers and toilets which were spotlessly clean. This is a lovely part of Essex to visit, lots of walking in pretty surroundings. Easy access from the A12 but no road noise. We will definitely return.
