Excellent, if somewhat basic, but access track hedge trimming needed please

We loved this site. Probably one of the most casual sites we have stayed on. The field needs another mow soon - the grass was quite long and spiky. But it is quiet and access to new milton, where we have family, was very easy. But the access track is a bit narrow and the hedge could do with a trim - We arrived in the field with a long length of blackberry briar attached to the front of the caravan! Contact the owner before arrival as you will need the gate access code, and payment is through the letter box of a cottage about 200 yards up the road towards Ashley. Park under the trees and face north west for evening sun and good shade during the day. Park on the left of the field for more or less full sunshine.

Lovely basic CL, a great base for exploring the area.

It's a grass field on the edge of Ashley with 5 double EHUs around the edge so plenty of choices of pitch. There's a waste drain, recycling bins near the entrance, and fresh water in the corner just along the fence. The friendly owner greets you at a house down the road and then you go onto the field once you have the access code. There's an easy walk into New Milton on footpaths and though estates with its nice high street shops and cafes. Head south about 2 miles across fields, lanes and a golf course to meet up with the coastal path. From there you can go to Barton on Sea and Highcliffe Castle or the other way to Milford on Sea and Keyhaven. Even more sights to see in the New Forest and along the coast if you have a bike or car or fancy using the bus!

Super Stay

First time on a CL site and loved it, 2 acres to roam, peaceful and calm. Totally left to our own devices which is my preference. Everything easy to access and great location.

Only a large field

Nothing more than a large field.  Not particularly well kept. Low electricity,  kept blowing.  Be careful of children as you access site.  Had to move toys away before we could enter. Think is just used as New Forrest money maker, owners need to check quality of other CLs if they are going to charge what they are currently.  Sorry owners but only what we found..

Lower Ashley Road

Large site with plenty of power points. Drinking water could be marked more clearly which would make it easier to find. As before payment is through letter box up the road. Good access to site.

Ideally located

We stayed here at Easter and access to the field was quite difficult due to recent rain but fortunately we were met by one of the owners who towed us over the mud with the tractor. Other than that we were left to our own devices and to had to find the owners house in the final day of our stay to pay. The site is behind some houses but don't let that put you off as the site is large. The site is ideally located for the exploring the area but the local pub is a walk through the woods. As the owners leave you on your own it would have been nice if the amenities were better sign posted.

Peaceful

No welcome on arrival at the site or during my stay. Was told when booking, to "just open the gate and let yourself in and pitch up anywhere you want". Never saw the owners who live further up the road from the site. Payment was made by pushing a cheque through the owners door. Such a laid back attitude to a business. BUT dont let this put you off. The site was very spacious & level with the grass mowed and numerous electricity points [10amp] all round the site, so just choose your own spot, ie in a quiet corner, or closer to other units. Chemical waste drain, 2 water taps, litter bins. The site has houses backing on to one side of the site with open fields on the other three. Local shops within walking distance and a large Tesco's about 5 to10mins drive away. Would I go again? Yes I think I would.

Spacious C.L.

Just returned from a very relaxing long weekend at this peaceful and spacious c.l. We did not meet the owner as they live further up the road but their Mother lives near and keeps a watchful eye on people coming and going to the c.l. for security. The entrance to the field was very muddy but this was due to the excessive rain recently and we were told it is not usually like this. Will definitely return to this c.l.
