Ease of arrival/welcome

What a letdown

This is a lovely site with beautiful views - but we didn't get to see them. On arrival we found the CL site was full, even though we had booked two months in advance. We were shown to another site 100 yds down the drive, euphemistically called 'the little paddock', which was only just big enough to take two caravans and cars. The only way to squeeze our medium-sized caravan in was to uncouple it from the car, turn it 180 degrees and push it backwards through the narrow opening. This compound was enclosed by stone walling and was under an overhanging tree, so was claustrophobic and dark. It was obviously used frequently though, as it had its own water tap, refuse and sewage disposal and electric points. TV reception was poor and we could only get BBC channels. The booster cable kept in the compound didn't work at all. Our only view was of the side of a tall machinery barn and the drive itself, where yet a third car and caravan were parked. Altogether a very disappointing experience.
