Lovely CL !

A lovely CL nestled in the beautiful little village of Harome. Very near are two nice smart pubs both having a restaurant and gardens. The CL has level grass pitches with great views and delightful owners. There is a lovely round walk along the river and back through the village (a leisurely 45 mins). It is about 3 miles from Helmsley and 3 miles from the NT Nunnington Hall. Both are well worth a visit! Thank you to Beatrice for making us welcome. Best regards Cath and Paul Dawson

Herone Feilds

What a gem, an incredibly well kept site, excellent information with a board to indicate your pitch no. on arrival, well spaced and large pitches. A very welcoming host, making a daily visit to check there was no other needs. Excellent location to be able to visit North Yorkshire, with Helmsley only 3 miles away with excellent pubs, restaurants and shops.

Peaceful

What a lovely site. Easy arrival, pitches on list on gate, owner lovely and visited every day to check everything was fine. Beautiful site, rabbits playing and birds swooping over the field in front. Stunningly beautiful village with few facilities, 2.8 miles to Helmsley which has everything. Lots of foodie shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, lots of places to visit. We tried the stunning Rievaulx abbey, and the beautiful walled garden, both of which are perfect for picnics. Plenty of activities left for next time. Very friendly town. Quit cycle/walk from village.

Wonderful!

Just got back from 4 nights here. Just perfect! Lovely large pitches with glorious views over the rolling meadows. Grass very well cut, each pitch has own rubbish bin and recycling available at entrance to site. The chemical disposal/grey water is top class and obviously only recently installed, impressive! Mrs Marwood was very friendly and extremely helpful, calling each evening to see everyone, but not in an obtrusive way.... The peace and quiet is paramount. One little negative and nothing at all to do with the site, took our dog out early one morning (7.30am) along the roads from Harome and met head on by the local 'hunt' exercising a pack of about 50 hounds that were all over the road. All approached our nervous rescue collie, she was hysterical, screaming and thrashing about as she's frightened of other dogs, No one did anything to try call them off or apologise for the distress caused! A fabulous break and will return soon.. thank you!

Lovely site

We arrived at the site and were allocated pitch 5. Pitches are spacious and well looked after. It is very quiet and peaceful here with a lovely view over the fields. The birds and the rabbits play in the field beside you, which I loved. A walk into helmsley takes about an hour, or their is a walk on the site through the field. Friendly, helpful owner, we would definitely return.

Just spent an amazing 10 nights at this CL. Owner was friendly and round ever days to check everything was ok Good size pitches and lovely view. Great facilities .well maintained field, even had your own bin. We had no issues with 10amp electricity supply. Lovely location for short walk into the village and easy access to walks in surrounding area. We will definitely be visiting this CL again

Owners don't like complaints beware

We arrived after a four hour journey. The views were great but we were surprised to find six caravans on the site and on a half acre site with all the caravans having awnings and a car to park it felt cramped. We didn't see the owners on the first day. We also had an issue with the electric tripping on pitch 3. Our neighbour who comes regularly said he had the same issue. The following day I called the owners to ask how we could pay as I always like to settle early even though we were there for a week. I mentioned the electric point and was told I must have too many appliances on, which I hadn't and that no one had complained before. I also mentioned about there being six vans on and enquired whether any were leaving so we could space ourselves out and maybe use a different electric point, but it seemed there were some leaving and others arriving so there would still be six vans on. I said okay, well leave it at that. Ten minutes later the ladies husband rang me and said they don't like complaints and asked us to leave the site which I was totally unprepared for. We had nowhere else to go and all the other sites were booked up. We had to move some distance away to get another site. We book CL's for peace and tranquility and space , the latter lacking on this site.

Tip Top Site

We recently stayed here for a week It was the first trip that we had taken in our Motorhome As complete novices to this kind of trip we were very nervous Beatrice the owner went out of her way to help us and to provide any support that we needed and for which we were very grateful We wanted a quiet and peaceful stay in picturesque surroundings which is exactly what we got The site is well maintained and regularly serviced in relation to all the available facilities Beatrice and her husband who came to mow the grass on the site work hard in an unobtrusive manner to keep up the very good standards on the site Harome village is very pretty and we had a fabulous meal at the renown Star restaurant in the village . We had lovely walks during our stay and visited nearby Helmsley for the market and fab ice creams All in all a great site with large pitches / electric hook up / water and an ideal position for exploring the beautiful surroundings We will definitely be returning Thank you Beatrice ( and hubby) for helping to make a success of our maiden trip in the Motorhome
